AI developer & agentic AI events you shouldn’t miss this fall/winter (2026)

AI conference 2026

Noticed how something shifted in the AI conference circuit this year? A year ago, most keynotes were still about “what can this model do.” Now, the agendas are dominated by a much harder set of questions: how do you get agents to run reliably on fresh web data or how do you wire dozens of tools together without your architecture turning into spaghetti?

That shift shows up in the numbers too. The Linux Foundation’s new Agentic AI Foundation launched a multi-city global events program in 2026 just to keep up with demand. Meanwhile AI Engineer, a conference series that barely existed a few years ago, now pulls in over 15 million views of its recorded talks online. And even long-running events are evolving with the industry: OxyCon, for instance, started as a web scraping conference but has grown into a showcase for AI-native data extraction and the autonomous pipelines that keep agents fed with live information.

If you’re trying to figure out where to spend your travel budget (or just an afternoon watching a livestream) between now and year-end, below are some of the top AI developer and agentic AI events worth attending.

1. OxyCon 2026

Online | Free | September 16

OxyCon is a free, fully virtual web scraping conference that’s become a go-to event for AI-native data extraction, run by Oxylabs.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Anyone whose agents browse, scrape, or reason over live web data. It treats “where does the data come from” as a first-class engineering problem instead of an afterthought.

2. AGNTCon + MCPCon Europe

Live, with livestream option | Amsterdam (RAI) | September 17–18

AGNTCon + MCPCon Europe is the European flagship agentic AI and MCP conference, run by the Linux Foundation.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers building or integrating agent tooling who want to understand where the standards are heading, and how it may affect your daily operations.

3. The AI Conference 2026

Live | San Francisco (Pier 48) | September 29 – October 1

The AI Conference is a vendor-neutral, builder-first general-purpose AI conference.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers who can only attend one big general-purpose AI conference and want a broad, technically credible snapshot of where the whole field stands.

4. World Summit AI

Live | Amsterdam (Taets Art & Event Park) | October 7–8

World Summit AI is a large-scale AI industry summit anchoring Amsterdam’s “World AI Week.”

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers and technical leaders who want to see how agentic AI adoption looks across industries and geographies. Useful context alongside the more narrowly developer-focused events on this list.

5. AGNTCon + MCPCon North America

Live | San Jose, CA | October 22–23

AGNTCon + MCPCon North America is an agentic AI and MCP conference, on home turf for US developers.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: US-based developers who can only attend one AGNTCon this year — it’s the larger of the two flagship events.

6. AI Engineer New York

Live, with online stream | New York City (Sheraton Times Square) | October 12–14

AI Engineer New York is a practitioner-first LLM application development conference.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers who want hands-on, practitioner-to-practitioner content on building and evaluating agents in production.

7. Big Data Conference Europe

Hybrid (in-person + online) | Vilnius, Lithuania | November 24–27

Big Data Conference Europe is one of the longest-running data engineering and AI conferences.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers working at the intersection of data engineering and AI. Especially useful if your agentic systems depend on solid data infrastructure and MLOps practices underneath them.

8. NeurIPS 2026

Live, with virtual/workshop access | Three physical hubs: Atlanta, Sydney, and Paris | December 6–12

NeurIPS 2026 is the academic choice on the machine learning research calendar, closing out the year.

2026 focus points:

Who it’s for: Developers who want to see next year’s agentic AI tools before they’re built. More academic than the rest of this list, but a good way to stay ahead of the curve rather than just reacting to what’s already shipped.

Realistically, it depends on what you’re optimizing for, but it’s worth saying plainly: all eight of these are worth attending for networking and staying current alone, regardless of which technical track pulls you in.

Agentic AI is moving fast enough that a lot of the real value is the hallway conversations, seeing what other teams are actually struggling with, and hearing where the standards and tooling are heading before it hits the blog posts.

If you’re still not sure where to start, OxyCon is the easiest first step, since it’s free, fully online, and happens first on the calendar (September 16).
