SoundPEATS Space is a wireless over-ear headphone with active noise canceling and a very long battery life. I am not a fan of over-ear headphones, but SoundPEATS Space has become my main listening device because of its sound quality, comfort, and reliability. At $90, the Space is a real bargain for users who need a good headphone for work, travel, and entertainment.

What’s in the box?

The box comes with the SoundPEATS Space headphones, an audio cable in case you don’t want to use the Bluetooth connection. But with a cable connection, the Space will lose its features such as ANC. The box also contains a USB-C cable for charging and the user manual.

The headphone has a solid build though I wish there was a way to replace the earpads given that all the other aspects of the headphone are great.

Sound quality

I’ve tried SoundPEATS with songs, podcasts, movies, videos, and basic video editing tools. I’m not an audiophile but the quality of the audio stood out for me immediately. The bass is especially well pronounced.

SoundPEATS also has a companion Android and iOS app that enables you to adjust different sound features to better suit your needs.

A button on the left side switches the noise cancelling feature. The noise cancelling is great, better than many other headphones I’ve tested. It also has a passthrough mode that enables you to listen to ambient sounds and your own voice while working, which is helpful when you need to listen and co-work at the same time.

The microphone quality was not very impressive. I ended up not using it for calls because my voice became a bit garbled and was too low. The microphone was decent in quiet rooms, but when there is background noise, the quality degraded considerably.

Comfort

SoundPEATS Space has enough room for your ears and thick enough earpads and a padded headband to ensure long-lasting comfort. I’ve used it for hours-long durations without feeling discomfort. The stability is also great, but I wouldn’t recommend it for intense workouts with lots of movements.

One of the advantages of SoundPEATS Space is its light weight, which makes it more comfortable.

Battery and connectivity

One of the most outstanding features of SoundPEATS Space is the battery. Without ANC, the fully-charged headphone will last for more than 120 hours. With ANC on, it will work for 65 hours, which is still more than many headphones without ANC. The charging is also very fast, and with a 10-minute charge, you get around 12 hours of play time.

SoundPEATS Space uses Bluetooth 5.3 and has a range that can reach around 65 meters (~200 feet) without obstructions, which is great if you take it for training in a gym or a soccer field. Even with obstacles like walls and panels, the headphones can reach up to 18 meters (~60 feet), which is good for use at home. The latency is very minimal and negligible when watching video and playing games.

Overall, SoundPEATS Space is a well-balanced and comfortable headphone with a very reasonable price and with high-quality sound that would be good for casual listeners, commuters, and light exercisers.
