The OneOdio Studio Max 1 are wireless headphones designed for DJs, musicians, and streamers. They offer a hybrid wired and wireless experience, with a focus on versatile connectivity and exceptionally long battery life.Â
Priced at $169.99, they come packaged with a wide array of accessories, including a low-latency wireless transmitter. While the sound quality is not super-crisp, Studio Max 1 surely comes rich in features, making sure to have something to give for anyone ranging from casual listeners to professional DJs.
Design and comfort
The Studio Max 1 has a large, industrial design, weighing 350g. The build features a generously padded headband with prominent red stitching and thick, protein leather earcups. The earcups are highly flexible. They rotate 90 degrees inward for folding and up to 180 degrees on another axis, which aids portability and allows for single-ear monitoring.
Despite their size, the headphones are comfortable during long sessions, such as a four-hour stream, due to the extensive padding. The earcups fit snugly, making them unnoticeable over time. (While comfortable, the bulk makes it a bit uncomfortable to wear outdoors.)
The headphones house multiple ports and buttons. The left earcup has a USB-C charging port and a 6.35mm jack. The right earcup contains a 3.5mm jack, a power button, volume controls, and a ‘B’ button for switching pairing modes. The product does not come with a specified IP rating for water or dust resistance so be careful where you use it (it’s not the kind of headphone you would use for workouts anyway).
Features and connectivity
Connectivity is a primary strength of the Studio Max 1. The headphones offer four distinct connection modes. Users can connect via Bluetooth 5.3 (supporting SBC, AAC, and LDAC codecs), a standard 3.5mm audio cable, or a 6.35mm audio cable for professional equipment like mixing desks.
The standout feature is the included M1 wireless transmitter. This device uses Rapid WiLL+ technology to create a low-latency connection of just 20ms, a significant improvement over standard Bluetooth (50-250ms). This makes the headphones suitable for latency-sensitive tasks like DJing, music production, and gaming.
The box includes a complete set of accessories: a carrying pouch, a USB-C charging cable, a 3.5mm-to-3.5mm audio cable, a 3.5mm-to-6.35mm audio cable, and the M1 transmitter. The headphones lack some common features found in consumer models, such as Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and a companion app for EQ adjustments or control customization (which was kind of a bummer).

Sound quality
The sound quality of the Studio Max 1 is decent but might not live up to all the other great features it has. The headphones are equipped with 50mm dynamic drivers and have a specified frequency response of 20Hz – 40kHz.
Overall, the sound is good. I listened to a variety of types of music with different instruments. I also tried it for gaming and had a decent experience. Then I had a musician friend test it and they were a bit annoyed with the overwhelming bass. If you’re a music and sound buff, you might not be very excited with the sound quality. But for casual use, I found it to be pretty decent.
The Studio Max 1 includes a dual microphone system with noise reduction intended to enhance clarity. I tried it for calls and video conferencing and found the quality to be pretty good even in relatively noisy settings (I used it only indoors so I can’t speak to the quality of the microphone in outdoor settings).
Battery life and pricing
One of the key features of the Studio Max 1 is its excellent battery performance, offering up to 120 hours of playback on a single charge. A full charge takes approximately two hours. I used it for a full week without the need to recharge. This is an excellent feature in case you have limited access to charging or just forget to charge your headphone. The headphones also feature a quick-charge function, where five minutes of charging provides five hours of listening time.
The headphones are available for $169.99 from the OneOdio website and Amazon.
These headphones are best suited for users who prioritize function and endurance over pure audio fidelity. DJs, streamers, and musicians will find value in the low-latency transmitter, versatile connection options, and massive battery life. However, audiophiles seeking pristine sound quality and features like ANC might not find the price justified.
